Cold reading has been around for hundreds of years now. Many pick up artist or psychic readers use the power of of this little known technique for the initial reading of someone they have never met before. There is various techniques to carry this out. Most people do not understand what is behind all of this and dismiss it as some unknown force, or a deep connection to the spirit world. While very few people have this ability, the majority of the pick up artists use cold reading to make a first impression on their “target’. It is certainly astonishing what most can do with this type if method and remains a never ending mystery in the eye of the public.

One of the most important elements in a in the whole pick up approach is the ability to find out more information without having to ask specific questions. Just a few of the techniques pick up artists use  for the power of cold reading is the Rainbow Ruse. Barnum Effect, and Shotgun. All of these may sound foreign to you but let me summarize each one to give you an idea of just how they work.

Often, with the Shotgun method – one is to fire off a certain amount of questions to the girl being “interviewed”. This is a quick way to get information out of an individual.

The Barnum affect takes a riskier approach with a single statement based on their overall profile and it also could lead to more information or a look into their future.

The Rainbow Ruse is used for giving too different comments without sounding too general. It will often sound believable and in many times, won’t fail.

With these techniques, you can easily have people practically running out of the room because they are so freaked out by what you have just told them. This is normal and an everyday issue when it comes to these cold reading techniques.
